What is GDPR?
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is one of the biggest legislative changes made since 1975. To be effective from May 25, 2018, the primary goal of these changes is protection of personal data and rights of EU residents.
Product Changes For GDPR Compliance
We've made few changes to make Engagespot GDPR Compliant. Product changes include -
- Under Website Settings, we added an option to Disable Activity Tracking of Subscribers. And by default, activity tracking is disabled for all European subscribers. Their activity will be tracked only if they enable activity tracking from their notification panel.
- Added a toggle to the Notification Panel so that subscribers can Opt-In for activity tracking.
- Another option is added to disable the storage of subscriber's IP and Location Information. This is also disabled for all European subsribers.
- Added facility for downloading user data. A subscriber data can be downloaded and erased from our system by sending an email to email@example.com with the subscribers UID. More details available here https://engagespot.co/docs/how-to-access-or-modify-your-data/
